Lucid dream

Had my first Lucid Dream this morning in a long while, I am excited about it because I have been intentionally working on different techniques to induce them. I have considered that if I really want to know the connections between sound and consciousness, it is perhaps necessary to have a objective experience of what consciousness is, and my take is that inorder to achieve this one needs to step out side of one self. There are altered states of consciousness that are available to us with practice that we can achieve, such as waking up in a dream or also an outer body experience, or OBE, astral projection.

There are many tools out there these day on the web, just like everything else. I recommend the Monroe Institute, they have been around for 30 40 years offering audio that 'entrains' your brain to be open to extra-consciousness, particularly their "Hemi-Sync" tapes are good. They sell their cds for a fair amount of cash, but they are available for 99cent download at Amazon... And this online group has a lot of good reading material.

Inshallah I will be posting more about what happens in the next few months, as my shaykh has given me direction in this and I hope finally to see some real results. Already one of the intriguing things I noticed is that memory is maintained while in a dream, as much of it as one could want. The key is intention, since I intended to accomplish this and prepared, I had the tools once I was local in the dream.
